lost in my own backyard

these are some pictures of the woods right outside my front door. i haven’t had much time to explore all the trails since we’ve moved up here, but yesterday i did. i went for a run to check out a new trail, pulled a calf muscle halfway into it, then got lost on the way back. i came out of the woods at 830pm, about 4 miles away from home, and uphill all the way back. i ended up hitching a ride from the most trusting lady in the universe. i hereby declare May 14 national pick up a hitch hiker at night day.

Omg. You and your hitch hiking. I thought those days were behind you lol

Hey Jen! haha- yeah i thought those days were over too. and i considered saying no thanks when the woman offered me a ride. my whole story just sounded so sketchy- a guy limping down the road who says he got lost in the woods? that has crazy man written all over it. but the last time i got lost in the woods and returned after dark, Suzanne was a wreck and had already called the police. so i accepted the offer for a ride and spent the whole time trying to sound as normal as possible. not an easy task for me ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks again for the note. hope you and your family are doing great!

I’ve been trying to read & follow you as much as possible. What a delight to see how you view the world. ๐Ÿ™‚
I think it’s great that you wanted to save Suzanne & police from worry & trouble.
And I would agree, trying to be normal for the sake of the trusting woman offering you a ride must have been tough. ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for sharing your world with us. Love it.

      Hey Diana!
thanks for the note and support. i appreciate your kind words. (honestly i’d even appreciate the unkind ones…) just nice to know i’m not having this conversation with myself ๐Ÿ˜‰
