today i finished up a 3 week writing workshop in my daughter’s second grade class. as a group they made a story about a duck who turned into a mushroom at night, and who dreamed of making it to the big leagues to play baseball. gotta love those 8 year old brains. i didnt take a camera to school, so here is a picture of abby and a few of her classmates.

this is a shot of our puppy Roger running. it looks real artsy but i was just trying to get a picture of him and he wouldn’t keep still. in real life he actually looks like an extra large guinea pig. sometimes i worry that an eagle is going to come down and snatch him up. and then i feel guilty for trying to imagine what that would actually look like.
This is my daughter’s website. she makes little clay sculptures and sells them for $3. for each one she sells she donates $1 to animal charities. so awesome!
On Friday morning, Zach’s kindergarten teacher called my wife at work. “Can you please tell Zach why he comes to school? Because I’m sure if you wanted him to be a clown, you would have sent him to the circus.”
I wish his teacher would have called me. I would have asked if he knew of any good clown schools for boys. i mean who knows? maybe he’s on to something. lots of kids would thrive at a place like clown school. talk about instilling confidence in a fun learning environment…
sometimes i don’t feel like posting. the past 6 months are a perfect example. above is a 3 stage series of pictures of a squirrel waking up from hibernation. I can totally relate. I think today I just hit stage 2.
